Rigorous Academics

Building on the rich tradition of Catholic schools, our students receive a rigorous education and strive for our core values of integrity, humility, hard work, and service each and every day.

Early Childhood Program

The at St. Mark provides Pre-K and Kindergarten students with the academic foundation for lifelong learning.  Experienced teachers with a long history at St. Mark provide dedicated instruction that encourages independence and exploration.

Extended Day

The academic day at St. Mark runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  This extended schedule allows the school to provide enhanced academic programming and a holistic educational experience for every student.

Technology

Educators at St. Mark the Evangelist School embrace 21st-century technology and emphasize the importance of digital literacy. Our students have access to a fully equipped computer lab as well as adaptive computer software that tailors to individual needs.

Library and Author Study Program

The library at St. Mark houses 3,000 volumes that attract avid readers and curious minds across all grades.  Our dedicated, full-time librarian collaborates with teachers to integrate the library’s resources into the classroom curriculum

Enrichment Programs

Our programs support dance, music and fine arts that enrich students’ academic experiences and broaden their appreciation for the rich and often unexplored culture that surrounds them.

Harlem Hospital

St. Mark partners with Harlem Hospital to provide an age appropriate program fostering conversations concerning healthy eating, physical health, and avoiding drugs and alcohol.

Harlem Grown

This non-profit organization teaches healthy living through mentorship and urban farming in community gardens. We are slowing exposing our students to this program.

The Coding Space

St. Mark’s is slowly being introduced to the The Coding Space this 2018-19 school year. Coding Space uses project based learning to teach students of all ages how to create games and websites. They learn this through HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Dancing Classrooms

Dancing Classrooms is a renowned ballroom dance program that teaches poise, respect, communication, and teamwork.  Students in the 4th, 5th, and 8th grade learn to dance gracefully while developing confidence and social awareness.
