St. Mark the Evangelist School offers and encourages hands-on opportunities to individuals wishing to devote their time to the school.

Patrons are substantial donors that have “adopted” our school. These incredible individuals aid in financial planning, capital improvements, enrichment programs and fundraising. Patrons make an enormous difference in the lives of our students and faculty and have transformed St. Mark into the tremendous school it now is.

If you have the capacity and the compassion, becoming a Patron is endlessly rewarding.

The St. Mark School Board is made up of dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds who devote their time and expertise to the success of the school. The School Board works closely with the school’s nuclear and extended communities to attract further educational, financial and community support.

As a School Board member, you can participate at the grass-roots level by:

  • Attending 4-5 meetings per year
  • Visiting the school at least once a year to meet the students and teachers
  • Helping the school prioritize its educational and financial goals
  • Facilitating contacts with foundations, corporations, and individuals
  • Helping develop strategic and financial plans

If you are interested in becoming an School Board member, please contact Michelle Prado for more information. Click here to explore what School Board members have funded for St. Mark in the past.

Many volunteers offer our students important opportunities without committing as much time as School Board members. Volunteers have taken students to the Frick Collection for art history tours, to the UN where they learned about international issues, and to Lincoln Center to see a play they had previously studied.

Volunteers also visit schools to offer various services. As a volunteer, you can tutor students, talk to them about your career, help with a project or simply read to a kindergarten class.

St. Mark needs books, toys and supplies. Our volunteers organize book, coat and toy drives, orchestrate fundraising events with colleagues, and donate surplus office supplies. Volunteers also assist with school technology upgrades and integration.

If you, your office or your community have something to give, be assured that St. Mark School puts all in-kind donations to good use.
